Featuring my own interpretation of a classic scene from the Creature from the Black Lagoon, this piece is 100% sterling silver, adorned with sparkling gemstones and glowing resin "water."
Every single element of the television was hand-sawn and forged from raw silver sheet and wire. If you check out the "Creature" story highlights on my Instagram, you can see some videos of the process.
I took some liberties with the scene and changed it to night for a more dramatic effect. For the gemstones, I chose blood red garnet and minty chrysoprase to mimic an anaglyph 3D color scheme. I matched the hue of the foamy lagoon water to the chrysoprase. When the water is properly charged, it casts an eerie aqua glow on the scene.
The back of the piece is embellished with the collection name & date as well as some starbursts and a pair of 3D glasses.
I consider this piece to be a "wearable sculpture." It can live full time on your curio shelf, but putting it around your neck is also an excellent option.
The total length is 35 inches. The dimensions of the TV (including the antennas) is 3.25 x 3.75 x 1.25 inches. Weight is 135 grams
